Orchard View Blvd. & Duplex Ave. Update ... April '07

The properties where derelict homes remain at this corner have recently been sold.

The new owner of the of this site has determined that that original thoughts of building stacked townhouses of up to 6 storeys, is not financially viable as a business venture.  At present the developer has tentative “plans” for demolition of the homes, but nothing firm has been decided.


It is not yet known what the owner ultimately has in mind for these properties, but the ever worsening state of disrepair presents an increased danger of fire hazard and falling bricks to adjoining residents and pedestrians respectively.

The photos below were taken in April 07 and show the disrepair of these old homes.  Especially note the chimney which is on the Duplex Avenue side ... please watch for falling brick!
