Safety in Eglinton Park

In October, 2009. ARECA recently participated in a "safety audit" of Eglinton Park which was precipitated by ARECA's persistence in having the over-growth covering the wooden staircase trimmed back to at least permit a safe line of sight.

In attendance were representatives from City Forestry, Parks and Recreation, 53 Division Police, ARECA and the local Councillor.  It was agreed that walkways lighting would be repaired; a handrail installed at the steps at the south west entrance from Eglinton Avenue; trees and shrub removed from close to steps and walkways and graffiti removed from the wooden steps leading down from Oriole Parkway

ARECA can also report that holes in the park that have been dug by dogs are to be filled in.

Those walking to the Community Centre, entering from Eglinton (west end) will now notice that after years of darkness, the lights along the path are back on.
